Vitreoretinal surgery has been an extremely innovative subspecialty in the field of ophthalmology with so many new developments in the surgical field as well as pharmaceuticals. A continuous need for update, developing new surgical skills as well as transfer of knowledge from one generation to the following one summarizes the mission of the EGVRS. We hope that our efforts will ultimately improve the level and quality of service offered to our patients.
The EGVRS was founded in 1998 by a group of leading vitreoretinal specialists in Egypt to provide an open forum for education, to increase the depth of understanding and treatment of vitreoretinal diseases, to share the experience of vitreoretinal specialists and to enhance the ability of its members to provide the highest quality of patient care.
EGVRS Annual Scientific Meeting through the efforts of all those involved and the Society members, the annual meeting has become an event for exchange of most updated knowledge and experience among members and guests from allover the world.
It is a tribute to the Founders and to all those who have given up their precious free and family time to create and build a Society that embodies, realizes and encourages the evolution of its mission to serve the community.
