Dear colleagues:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Egyptian Vitreoretinal Society (EGVRS 2026). This year’s theme, “Directions in Surgical and Medical Retina and Uveitis,” will guide a program that explores the evolving paths in the management of vitreoretinal disorders. Selecting the right direction invariably influences treatment outcomes and patient benefit.

We are honored to bring together distinguished guest speakers from Europe, the United States, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf region ; fostering knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration. This meeting offers a valuable opportunity to share insights, explore recent advancements, and connect with peers in the field.

I invite you to participate in the Retina Lounge, which will host interactive sessions on intriguing topics, followed by in-depth discussions with field experts. The Retina Lounge also includes a hands-on wet lab focused on AI-assisted software integrated with OCT machines—marking the first wet lab in the Middle East to demonstrate the role of artificial intelligence in pathological detection and the follow-up of various macular disorders.
