On behalf of the EGVRS Board, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 16th Egyptian Vitreoretinal Society (EGVRS) Meeting that will be held at the Steigenberger Nile Place Hotel, at the Ancient Capital of Egypt “Thebes” or Luxor.
EGVRS is considered to be the most prominent vitreoretinal society in the Middle East. This has been achieved through our continuous educational and scientific activities and maintaining a high standard for our scientific content. Our aim is to make it one of the landmark Retina Meetings in the region and even in the world.
We are proud to present a very interesting program with a distinguished faculty of the leaders in vitreoretinal surgery. The meeting format aims at creating interactive fruitful discussions about down to Earth, real-life challenges that all Retina specialist meets in their daily practice.
Inspired by the mystique of the magic of Pharaonic Egypt, we will experience Mystery retina sessions, deciphering CNV signs, unlocking the curse of pharaohs in surgical challenges and even learning the secrets of mummifications of the retina to fix recurrent cases!
The journey of this meeting will take your breath away as we plunge into the abyss of macular holes and even down to sub-retinal surgery to visit the underworld and get a glimpse of the afterlife! We will even reverse the time machine to travel from ancient times back to the future to know what are the latest developments in vitreous surgery!
The highlight of the meeting will be the EGVRS Film Festival competition and the Retina surgeons will dig deep into themselves to show their hidden artistic talents side by side their surgical skills to win the Golden Pharaoh Award!
We are proud to have distinguished international guest speakers from Europe and the Middle East and we are also proud to have the Vitreoretinal society of India (VRSI) as a partner in this meeting.
We hope that you will enjoy the Congress and that your interaction with your colleagues will stimulate the creative exchange of ideas and will be personally rewarding.
