What is the dry/wet vitrectomy lab:

This is a lab which provides either Artificial (dry) or Animal (wet) eyes with the setup of a vitrectomy machine and some commonly used vitreoretinal instruments.

Objective of the Lab:

  • The main objective of the lab is to provide candidates with an introductory hands on course on vitrectomy, stressing primarily on basic techniques including entry and exits using the latest micro incision vitrectomy systems (MIVS).
  • Introduction to machine setup including adjustment of fluids and vitrectomy duty cycles.
  • More advanced vitrectomy surgery techniques with more advanced setups can be explored for candidates who are interested by subscribing to a vitrectomy surgery simulator course.
